So I had to rely on the information Pieter and Maaike told me. I could have written about the next two weeks of Opa’s stay in Canada, but a story soon becomes a bit monotonous. Opa died two years later and Maaike found a notebook among his many books in which he had written down his experiences in Canada. He wrote with trembling hands, but remarkably well.
