Sunday, 1910-03-06. From Elizabeth Stuit to Ena Stuit.
Woldendorp, March 6.
Beloved sister,
You have probably been looking for a letter, I think. You might be thinking that Father is better again. I wish I could write that, but I can’t. Father is not well again. He is worse instead of better. He is in bed all day and may only have milk and eggs. Four eggs and two litres milk.
Today Trijntje came. We had reading (of sermons) all day. I went to church this afternoon and Trijntje had to stay with Father. I can’t get out much of course these days. I got a postcard from Roelle Oosterbeek. Please thank her for me; I don’t know her address. Please greet her and her mother.
Next year Trijntje will go to Veendam, as housekeeper with a boatbuilder-carpenter, for a wage of 140 guilders. I have to stop now — it’s evening and time to go to sleep. I’ll write again soon.
Greetings, Elizabeth.
