Dear brother and sister,
Through the Lord’s goodness I can write that Jan and Marie are improving. They are still mostly in bed, but the doctor said today that Jan was surviving his attack. My foot is about the same. Just a short while ago we received the sad news that tante Beke hung herself. What caused her to come to this I do not know. It happened this afternoon between one and four. Siepko Smit is improving and Upko was also seriously ill but is now up again for an hour each day. What the matter was with Imke Smit I do not know. She did suffer a lot. She also had poor blood and a lot of headaches.
You wrote about that Cili last time. Father had dropped off 4 bales at Groeneveld and took 4 bales home. Father is very busy in the garden. I have to finish. Kindest regards from all of us.
Elizabet.
