Sunday, 1908-11-29. From Elizabeth Stuit to H. Beekhuis.

Woldendorp, November 29.1908.

Dear brother and sister,

We received your letter with the news that a little son was born to you. Are you feeling better dear sister? Rientje just is not improving. She is very short of breath. Jan now also gets medicine drops and has to drink lots of milk, 1 1/2 litres. We have the hospital bed back again. Rientje is in it now. Roelf and Marie sleep with Father, Ena with the boys and one bed is empty.

It was Lord’s Supper today. Father and Ena went to church, and I had to stay with Rientje and write a letter. It feels very lonely now that Mother is gone and it feels as if we long for her more and more. Father has medication for his stomach. It’s been a while dear sister since we had a chance to write — we are all in good health.

But it’s getting dark and Father and Ena are back. I can’t write anymore now. May the Lord have mercy on us all and heal Rientje, that is our prayer.

Greetings from your Father and sisters and brothers.

Your loving sister, Elizabeth.
