1908-09-12 Elisabeth to H. Beekhuis

Saturday. 1908-09-12. From Elizabeth Stuit to H. Beekhuis.

Dear brother and sister,

I am sitting down to write you the sad tiding that our dear little son and brother [Siepko Stuit: 1899-1908] died last night at one o’clock. He didn’t talk anymore the last week. He recognized no one. On Friday his little chest was just boiling, and he had a very hard time breathing.

Toward midnight he became very still. A few more deep sighs and he was no more. May the Lord comfort us all in this very difficult way.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.

Greetings from all of us.

Elizabeth.
