Herman de Jong’s impressions of Jan Joosse began in 1955 when he interviewed for a teacher’s job at Sarnia Christian School and ended in 1979 when Herman’s family moved away from Sarnia, a few years before Mr. Joosse’s death.

The Sarnia Christian School circa 1958, built block by block with faith as its foundation. Herman de Jong taught there from 1955 – 1969. Son Henry, seen toddling here with Herman in hand, graduated from SCS the same year, 1969.
